Liverpool vs. Real Betic: Pre-Season 2024 Preview & How to Watch
Liverpool kick off their pre-season under their new head coach tonight at 7:30 PM EST in Pittsburgh
LIVERPOOL VS REAL BETIS
| Saturday, July 26th |
Pre-Season | Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
12:30AM BST/6:30PM EST
PREVIEW
Liverpool start their pre-season against Real Betis in Pittsburgh, with no exciting new faces on display (unless you’re counting Mohamed Salah’s haircut). This will be a chance to preview new head coach Arne Slot’s tactics, though the newness combined with travel and the physical program of pre-season training means this might be something of an ugly watch.
Of course, pre-season in itself is meaningless beyond squad development, so an ugly watch is by no means a bad thing if it helps the team get to where they need to be for the season’s start.
What to watch for? Well, look for differences in positioning and where Liverpool look to start attacks. Regardless of outcome of the game, pre-season matches are of interest when thinking about how players’ roles have changed, and how the team will look to use the ball over the season ahead. We should also get a chance to take a look at some young players who might hope to break into the side under Slot.
All in all, this is for the giddy excitement that another season is to come.
