It’s almost here. It’s almost here. It’s almost here.

LIVERPOOL VS. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

| Sunday, April 27th |
Premier League | Anfield
4:30PM GMT/11:30AM EST

One point. One point. Liverpool need one single, solitary point to grab their 20th league trophy. Tottenham Hotspur are the unfortunate team that may, if all goes well, be left behind when Liverpool lift the trophy on Sunday evening.

Arsenal’s midweek draw against Crystal Palace means that there is mathematically still a chance for the Gunners to clinch it, but as long as the Reds don’t lose on Sunday, they’re guaranteed a victory.

Spurs have had a woeful season in the league and are probably just counting down the games. They’ve avoided relegation, but could still end up in 17th place when all is said and done. Their main focus now is on the Europa League, where they have made it to the semifinals. It’s not surprise that manager Ange Postecoglou will not be risking captain Son Heung-Min, who is still recovering from a foot injury.

Liverpool managed an unimpressive victory against Leicester City, which nonetheless got them the three points.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s leading goalscorer, has suffered a four game drought. He will no doubt want to change that in order to help the team lift the cup.

Friends, pace yourselves, drink responsibly, call an Uber, etc. It might be a long night.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup (4-2-3-1)

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota

Only Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton remain out for sure. Conor Bradley could make the bench, but will most likely miss this one.

For Postecoglou, as mentioned, he’ll be without Son, and also Radu Dragusin. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will both return after they got subbed out at halftime against Nottingham Forest as a precaution.

What the Managers Had to Say

Arne Slot: “I enjoy going to Anfield every single time, but the focus is on trying to get the points or win over the line. Normally we settle only for a win, a point isn’t enough. It’s mostly three, four or five minutes you are happy and then normal managerial life starts again.”

Ange Postecoglou: “I’m a 60-year-old adult, I’ve gone past my boyhood crushes. It’s got no impact whatsoever. I have great admiration for the football club. Yes, I supported it when I was younger, but that was 50-odd years ago so we’ve well and truly moved on since then.”

The Officials

Referee: Tom Bramall. Assistants: Simon Bennett, Dan Robathan. Fourth official: Chris Kavanagh. VAR: Craig Pawson. Assistant VAR: Darren Cann.
