For as much as Liverpool Women have struggled in the league this season, with a recent uptick in form to thank for raising the Reds one point clear of last place and relegation—and with their next opponents, Leicester City, the side now sat a point behind them—it has been a positive season in the FA Cup.

There, they found their latest success on Sunday beating local rivals Everton 2-1 to advance to the quarter final stage of the competition, where today it was confirmed they will face off against Charlton Athletic in the next round—though it won’t be easy despite the fact Charlton are a second division side.

The Reds’ opponents currently sit first in the Women’s Super League 2, and they have a full nine-point cushion on their closest rival for promotion. It’s a game, then, that could easily end up helping to define just how good this Liverpool side given the club’s proximity to the relegation places all season long.

Liverpool will face Charlton on Sunday, April 5th with the Reds travelling to London and the game set to take place at Charlton’s 27,000-seat stadium, The Valley, with a 2PM kickoff. The other quarters pit Arsenal against Brighton, Birmingham against Manchester City, and Chelsea against Tottenham.
