Klopp: ‘It was only two games ago we had an 18-game unbeaten run. Now everything feels different’

The Reds fell to a second consecutive defeat on Saturday after a 3-2 loss to West Brom sent them crashing out of the FA Cup.

Jürgen Klopp has accepted the increasingly negative feeling surrounding Liverpool at the moment after a disappointing week saw them lose to both Swansea City and West Brom.

Two weeks ago, the Reds beat league leaders Manchester City in an enthralling win at Anfield.

Klopp: “It was only two games ago we had an 18-game unbeaten run. Now everything feels different. That’s true. It’s very important. The defeats felt really harsh, that’s good.

“We can’t afford anymore bad games, 100%. They were really harsh defeats for us. We have to show what we can do again. We can learn from the defeats. We need to get back on track tomorrow night.

“I don’t look ahead four or five weeks and think games are important. Every game is important. But because the view from outside we wasted three points, now people think it is more important.”

Klopp offered a brief injury update ahead of the Reds’ midweek clash with Huddersfield Town.

He also revealed that he was happy with the contributions of Jordan Henderson and James Milner off the bench against West Brom.

“Nothing has been decided so far, but it looks like all the players who were available last time are available again, but now 100%.

“Hendo did really well when he came on, like Milly did. They brought some fresh ideas and confidence. They showed up.”
