Harry Wilson set for season-long loan move to Derby County

Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson is set for a season-long loan move to Derby County, according to The Liverpool Echo.

Wilson agreed a long-term contract with Liverpool last week, and now he’s set to play under Frank Lampard at Derby County for the upcoming season.

The Welshman is set to join Derby County in the next 48 hours, which no doubt is a blow to a number of clubs who have enquired about the availability of Wilson for the upcoming season.

It is reported that 12 clubs were interested in the signature of Wilson, one of them being Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic, but Liverpool declined Celtic’s offer.

Derby County have guaranteed the winger minutes on the pitch, which was big in persuading Wilson to join.

Wilson has looked good in what he has played for Liverpool during the pre-season thus far. He scored two goals in Liverpool’s opening pre-season clash against Chester, and Lampard will be hoping he brings that form to Pride Park.
