Ings sale to generate more than £20million
Liverpool are set to offload wantaway striker Danny Ings for more than £20million with a host of Premier League outfits competing for his signature, according to reports.
It will represent a significant profit for the Reds, who shelled out £6.5million along with £1.5million in add-ons to sign him from Burnley.
Manager Jurgen Klopp wanted to keep Ings as a deputy to Roberto Firmino after he returned to the side at the tail-end of the season but has reluctantly sanctioned his departure after the 26-year-old expressed a desire to play first-team football elsewhere.
Crystal Palace are said to be leading the way in the pursuit of Ings, but competition from the likes of Newcastle, Southampton and Leicester appears have to driven his price up beyond the £20million mark.
Ings’ destination, then, remains unclear with six days of the transfer window remaining.

He will be absent when the Reds take on Napoli in Dublin on Saturday evening.
Liverpool have also shown Divock Origi the exit door after the striker’s underwhelming performances in pre-season but may be forced to loan him out with suitors put off by their lofty £27million valuation.
There were reports on Friday that Fenerbahce Sporting Director Damien Comolli had flown to Liverpool for talks over a temporary move for the Belgian, but they have since been refuted.
