James Milner converted a crucial penalty for the Liverpool just before half-time to loosen PSG’s grip on the tie.

Juan Bernat gave PSG the lead in the opening 13 minutes before Neymar finished off a lightning-quick attack to double the French side’s lead after 37 minutes.

However, the drama came just before the interval as Sadio Mane was brought down inside the area by Angel Di Maria.

The referee initially pointed for a corner kick but after clarification from his assistant, the penalty was awarded.
