Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain makes big step after eight-month lay-off

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has made a big step in his recovery from the knee injury he suffered in April.

The midfielder suffered the injury against AS Roma in the Champions League semi-final first leg last season at Anfield.

He ultimately missed the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kiev and the World Cup in Russia.

Oxlade-Chamberlain sustained multiple ligament damage to his knee which ruled him out for the majority of this season, but the Englishman has just made a huge stride by running on the Melwood grass for the first time since the injury.

“That feeling when you’re back out on the grass for the first time in eight months,” he captioned the post.

The Reds have severely missed Oxlade-Chamberlain this season, but there is no rush to get the Englishman back out on the pitch.
