James Milner is a machine, says Georginio Wijnaldum
James Milner’s incredible work ethic and relentless attitude both on and off the pitch have seen him earn the label of being an absolute machine.
When the Englishman joined Liverpool in 2015 on a free transfer, fans knew exactly what they were getting and he has grown into a key player even if supporters weren’t over the moon when he signed.
Last season, he broke the record for most assists (9) in a single Champions League campaign as he helped the Reds to the final in Kiev. While he isn’t always the most creative players, as he showed against Napoli, he is always willing to work his socks off to help his side to victory.

Speaking about Milner reaching 500 Premier League appearances, Gini said: “It is, and also that he is still so fit. He’s a machine.
“We always see him in the gym and sometimes I’ll say: ‘James, you might take a little bit of rest!’
“But he is always busy to keep his body as fit as possible so for me it’s not a surprise that he’s made so many appearances.
“Against Bournemouth, he played as a right defender so I told him he’d played in every position and he said: ‘Except in goal, so if we’ve used three substitutes and the goalkeeper gets a red card, it’s me!’”
