Liverpool angling for record-breaking kit deal as New Balance contract winds down

Liverpool are attempting to bring in a record-breaking kit deal that will eclipse that of rivals Manchester United’s deal with Adidas.

The Reds’ deal with New Balance expires at the end of the 2019/20 season, and talks are underway to extend that deal beyond its current end.

The deal is worth roughly £45million to Liverpool per season, and last season’s kit amassed the highest sales in the club’s history.

Liverpool have worn New Balance since 2015, previously donning Warrior, an affiliate company of the American brand.

Warrior followed Adidas, who had been Liverpool’s official kit partner between 2006 and 2012. Liverpool and Adidas parted ways as Liverpool’s form slipped through some tough years.

Yet they could now be back in the frame to become Liverpool’s official kit partner as the Reds hunt for a mammoth deal that will be worth a record-breaking sum.

Nike are reportedly also in the frame, with the possibility of the two huge brands collaborating for the first time in history.

Liverpool are sure to have offers aplenty considering the club’s brand value has increased by 33% in the last 12 months, according to Brand Finance.
