Lyon move closer to agreeing new contract with Nabil Fekir
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says that talks are progressing with Nabil Fekir over a contract extension.
The midfielder was on the verge of joining Liverpool last summer in a deal that would have been worth up to £53million but the results of his medical put the move in jeopardy.
Chelsea were also linked with summer and winter moves for him but have steered clear and it now looks like he will remain in France for the time being.

Aulas said Lyon are getting closer to extending Liverpool target Nabil Fekir’s contract, saying: “We have made some advances in Fekir’s contract extension, we are discussing it and soon I’ll have to see Nabil, we aren’t in the final stages but in any case we have advanced.”
Liverpool moved on in the summer and it’s clear that Klopp and Michael Edwards won’t be making any moves to sign him at the end of the summer.
