Marko Grujic Reportedly Awaits Another Bundesliga Loan

The Serbian midfielder is said to be wanted by several German clubs after a successful loan spell with Hertha Berlin.

He’s seen the world from Cardiff City to Berlin since embarking from Liverpool into the land of the loaned player. Marko Grujic arrived with promise in 2016 from Red Star Belgrade but has since not found a place in Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Loans to Cardiff City and Hertha Berlin have largely been positive for Grujic’s reputation. He was a key player in Cardiff securing promotion to the Premier League in 2018. And Hertha’s manager last season called Grujic “by far the best midfielder at Hertha Berlin in 20 years.”

But Klopp’s midfield is not an easy place to find purchase. Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Fabinho, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita are all ahead of a potentially returning Marko Grujic.

The good news for Marko is that he’s apparently a wanted man at several clubs in the Bundesliga. On Friday, ESPN reported that another loan spell is on the cards for Grujic, with Eintracht Frankfurt, Werder Bremen and Hertha queueing up.

At 23-years-old Grujic is still learning the secret ways of the professional midfielder and that seems to be better sussed out with regular game time as opposed to training every day at Melwood and probably not making the bench very often at Liverpool.

Klopp is said to still rate Grujic and hopes that the player will eventually rise to the level necessary to make the cut at Anfield. Grujic’s contract at Liverpool runs until 2023.
