RB Salzburg Star Striker Erling Haaland Fit to Face Liverpool

Liverpool may be favourites heading into tonight’s match, but Haaland’s scoring record is a little frightening.
If Liverpool are to get the three points they need in the Champions League tonight against RB Salzburg, they will have to figure out a way to do something that nobody else has this season—they’ll need to figure out a way to shut down Erling Haaland.
The 19-year-old Norwegian has broken through for Salzburg this season, racking up 17 goals and adding five assists for good measure in just ten total appearances so far—including a hat-trick against Genk in their opening Champions League tie.
There had been some concerns over his fitness, and Haaland had to sit out Salzburg’s weekend league game against Austria Wien, but according to manager Jesse Marsch it was only illness and not injury and the striker will be ready to go for tonight’s game.
“Erling is healthy and ready,” said Salzburg’s American manager. “He is a big part of our team, he has scored a lot of goals for us this year and is a big threat. The only decision for us is whether he is ready to start or to bring him off the bench.”
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has also spoken about Haaland and knows the striker will likely pose the key threat to his side tonight as they look to bounce back from a disappointing performance and result in their European opener against Napoli.
“He is a wonderful player,” Klopp noted. “Very young, very confident, very quick. He looks clear minded and focused on the pitch. He is not the only threat for us, unfortunately, but he is a proper one.”
