Jamie Carragher states that Liverpool forward is underappreciated

Former Red Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is underappreciated by the Anfield faithful.

Salah, who signed for Liverpool from Roma for a transfer fee of £35 million in the summer of 2017, has been immense for the club.

The Egyptian international broke the record for Premier League goals in a 38-game season in his debut campaign for the Reds, scoring 32 and 44 in all competitions.

In the 2018-19 season, Salah scored 27 goals for Liverpool in all competitions. So far this season, he is also coming along nicely.

However, Carragher believes that despite the numbers Salah has put on the board since signing for the club, he feels that the Egyptian is the world-class player in Jurgen Klopp’s squad that is underappreciated by the Anfield faithful.

Carragher does make a fair point. Salah is certainly liked by the Liverpool supporters, but not to the extent that Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are.

It is difficult to understand why, as he does perform as well as the other attacking players on the pitch.
