Jurgen Klopp previews trip to Watford

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is expecting a tough game against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Liverpool enter the clash against Watford having defeated West Ham United 3-2 at Anfield last night.

Reds midfielder Gini Wijnaldum opened the scoring in the first-half, but Hammers defender Issa Diop equalised shortly after.

Despite Liverpool’s dominance with the ball, West Ham took the lead through midfielder Pablo Fornals early in the second-half.

However, that particular goal woke Liverpool up, as forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both scored shortly after to secure three more Premier League points for the Reds.

Liverpool possess a 22-point lead at the top of the table. Four more victories would ensure the club a maiden Premier League title.

However, despite Liverpool’s clear advantage over the rest of the league, Klopp is expecting a tough game against the Hornets on Saturday.

“We all know that it’s very special but in the moment we are really just in the situation and want to recover and want to prepare the next one because the next opponent is really waiting and wants to fight us,” Klopp said, as quoted by The World Game.

“The whole stadium at Watford will go [after] us, it’s completely normal, there will be a special atmosphere and we have to be 100 per cent ready.

“I saw the boys tonight, they are ready to fight, and as long as we are really ready to fight nobody should worry, but still a lot of work to do.”

The mentality that Klopp possesses is a key reason why Liverpool have had so much success as of late. It would take a miracle for Liverpool to not claim the title, but that is not how Klopp is viewing it.

He won’t let his players rest until the season is done, which is the mentality needed if the club are to continue on an upward spiral.
