Youth Internationals Update: Northern Ireland Need Points

The major international tournaments have ended, but the Academy is still in action

The Under-19 Euros have kicked off this week, and matchday two saw Liverpool’s Academy in play with Kieran Morrison featuring for Northern Ireland against Italy.

Unfortunately for Morrison, a strong Italian side put three past Northern Ireland, who will hope to make up the points in their next match, which is against Norway on Sunday.

Morrison is a promising young attacking midfielder, who played 77 minutes against Italy. He made his Liverpool U18s debut at 16 in 2022/23 after joining the Academy from Manchester United at 14.

These U19 Euros come in a big summer for Morrison, who signed his first professional contract back in April.

In the 2024 U19 Euros, Morrison had previously featured in the opening draw against Ukraine.
