Liverpool Women’s First Match At St. Helen’s Is A Preseason Merseyside Derby

The club announced a run of preseason matches on Friday.

All the preseason training is finally stepping up a notch for Liverpool’s women’s team.

Friday the club announced a run of preseason matches to prepare for the next Women’s Super League season.

The matches will be held at Melwood behind closed doors, with the exception of a match against Manchester United being hosted at their Carrington training ground. The other opponents include Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Manchester City.

A real test run for the season will be the Women’s first match at their new home of St. Helen’s Super Wicked Stadium, where they’ll be hosting crosstown rivals Everton.

The Merseyside Derby will be open to fans, with tickets available for purchase starting on August 5th, and complimentary tickets available for season ticket holders. Everton will finish this stretch of preseason matches, with the opening match of the WSL season following on September 22nd, with the women hosting Leicester City.

Tickets will go on offer for season ticket holders on Friday August 2, with supporters also able to purchase a season ticket here.
