Plus Salah, Endo and Rio in action.

A few Liverpool FC players were in international action today. The most significant action too place in South America World Cup Qualifying, as Argentina hosted Brazil in Bueno Aires. The result was a humiliating 4-1 victory, where Argentina were in full control, even passing the ball around to chants of “Ole” from a sold-out crowd at the Monumental Stadium.

In the 37th minute, Alexis Mac Allister fired home from an Enzo Fernandez cross following another superb team move.

Brazil were without Alisson Becker in goal, but Argentina were without Lionel Messi and Lautaro Martinez. This makes it six years since Argentina tasted defeat against Brazil. Whatever Brazil was doing to them in the 2000s when they would field 2nd choice teams and still win, Argentina are doing right back to them now.

Colombia also hosted Paraguay, and Luis Diaz scored in the game's first minute. Unfortunately, Colombia could only hold on for a 2-2 draw.

In Africa, Mohamed Salah played all 90 minutes, captaining Egypt to a 1-0 victory over Sierra Leone in World Cup qualifying. After the game, the opposing players swarmed Mo for pictures.

Wataru Endo also captained Japan in their 0-0 draw with Saudi Arabia in World Cup qualifying. After they clinched qualification last week, he played 74 minutes in what was essentially a meaningless game.

In youth action, Rio Ngumoha put on a show for England U17s in their third and final U17s Euros qualifier of the break. He scored twice and recorded an assist against Northern Ireland at St George’s Park in a 5-0 win.

Meanwhile, Josh Sonni-Lambie played all 90 minutes for England’s U18s side as they defeated Portugal 1-0 in a friendly meeting.

Stefan Bajcetic, currently out on loan at Las Palmas, played 76 minutes for Spain’s U21s in a 3-1 defeat to Germany in friendly action, while Trent Kone-Doherty was a late substitute for Republic of Ireland’s U19s in a 1-0 defeat to Germany in a Euros qualifier.
