The Argentinian midfielder had a lot to celebrate on Sunday!

It has been almost twelve hours since Liverpool secured the Premier League championship and further cemented themselves as England’s most successful club, and emotions are still riding high. Want to hear some more to make yourself emotional?

Ex-Liverpool player Stephen Warnock reportedly spotted our World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister taking in the achievement of the day, on the bench, alone, and in tears.

Honestly, we were all probably crying with you, Macca.

The Argentinian spoke to Sky Sports as well following the match, of the dual achievements of winning the World Cup with Argentina and now the Premier League.

“To win a World Cup and now a Premier League is something really special. It’s an achievement I really, really enjoy but it would not be possible without my team-mates,” Mac Allister said.

“They are the most important thing for me and I am just one part of the puzzle. They are really special. This team is really, really good and last year we showed it but it wasn’t enough at the end but this time, we made a big difference. Something really special. Hopefully we can enjoy this week.”

Not only did the squad win in emphatic fashion on Sunday, Mac Allister himself contributed to the scoreline with a thundering shot from just outside the box to take the lead from Tottenham Hotspur. His goals mostly do have a particular “just leather it, lad” quality and Sunday’s goal was no exception.

“It was really good. I don’t think I’m going to score that one again but I think the same against Fulham, when I score a good goal, a similar one so it wasn’t bad,” the midfielder exclaimed.

This is now the second year with the midfielder, after he moved to Merseyside from Brighton in 2023, and he is happy to say that yes, it was a good move for him and his career but also that he feels he made the right choice.

“Really, really pleased. I think it was the right decision for me. Not just because of my teammates but the club, the city is something amazing,” Mac Allister continued.

“I’m really enjoying my time here. It was the right decision and I always thank Jurgen because he was a really important part and Julian Ward as well.”

Time to enjoy it, even with four matches left including small rivals Chelsea and Arsenal on the horizon.
