Cardiff City have held talks with Liverpool regarding a loan deal for Marko Grujic

Cardiff City have held talks with Liverpool regarding a potential loan deal for Marko Grujic, according to the BBC.

Grujic went on loan last season to the Welsh club and made 14 appearances. The Serbian international also helped the club gain promotion to the Premier League for the upcoming season.

Liverpool are reportedly keen on the idea that Grujic gains some experience at a Premier League club where he will start more times than not.

With Naby Keita and Fabinho signing with Liverpool this summer, minutes on the pitch will be difficult to come by for Grujic at Anfield.

The move will come down to Grujic when he returns from the World Cup. Serbia have been knocked out of their respective group after finishing third, so a decision on Grujic’s future will be known sooner rather than later.

The Reds signed the Serbian international from Red Star Belgrade in a £5.1million deal in January 2016. Grujic has made eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Merseyside club.
