Mohamed Salah still a doubt of Egypt’s World Cup opener
Mohamed Salah is still a doubt for Egypt’s World Cup opener, according to Sky Sports.
Egypt’s medical team are doing everything to make sure the Egyptian can feature in Friday’s opening game against Uruguay.
Salah injured his shoulder back in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev a few weeks back.

Salah took to the training track on Monday with Egypt, but he was only a spectator, which does leave a question about whether he will be fit enough for the game against Uruguay.
“We’re keeping an eye on the situation day by day,” said Ehab Lehita, Egypt’s managing director.
“We have been following the case since his injury in the final of Champions League. Mohamed trained in Cairo, trained yesterday and is training today. We are watching the situation closely with the doctor.
“He has daily treatment sessions on his shoulder. He trains indoors as well in the gym, and today he trained on the pitch.
“He is gradually getting better. However, I cannot confirm today that he will play in the first match. All I can say is that we hope he will play in this match.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has sent out a classy message which wishes Salah all the best in his recovery.
“Mo Salah has been one of the revelations of the year,” said Ronaldo, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo.
“I hope his injury in the final in Kiev doesn’t keep him out.
“Many people talk about the Cristiano Ronaldo-Messi battle but there are other players who have chances to enter the race (for Ballon d’Or). The Egyptian is one of them.”
If Salah cannot feature against Uruguay, his next target will be to play against hosts Russia on June 19.
