Sarri says Liverpool are ‘ready’ to end title wait

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri says Liverpool are ‘ready’ to win their first Premier League title this season, though he will look to dent their hopes on Saturday evening.

Sarri’s side entertain the Reds at Stamford Bridge just three days after coming from behind to knock them out of the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool currently sit top of the pile by two points and are the only side that can still boast a 100% record after Chelsea’s stalemate at West Ham.

Sarri knows the visitors will be looking to exact revenge for Wednesday night’s defeat and, in the process, extend the margin between the two teams to five points.

“[Liverpool’s title drought is] very strange, but what’s important is that now they are ready,” he said.

“They’re a top-level team. They have worked with the same coach for four seasons; they are ready now to win the Premier League

“Tomorrow it’s another match in another competition with a different starting XI. I think maybe Liverpool can increase the determination after Wednesday, it was a difficult match on Wednesday, and it’ll be a difficult match tomorrow.”

But Sarri also warned the Reds that there is more to come from star man Eden Hazard, who scored a brilliant winner at Anfield.

“I think that he’s for sure one of the best but I’m absolutely convinced that he can improve,” he said.

“I think that we have seen only 70-80 percent of his potential, so if he can improve he can be the best in the world.

“It’s difficult to compare him with other players. He’s a genius, I think he’s unique.”
