In Honour of Jürgen Klopp’s Third Liverpool Anniversary
This month marks Jürgen Klopp’s third anniversary as manager of Liverpool Football Club.
What a time it is to be a Liverpool supporter! We have the best squad we have had in years, our fan base is more unified than ever before in our love for our club and we have owners who not only saved us from the clutches of financial ruin – they breathed new life into our LFC when they signed Jürgen Klopp.
Our marquee signing of the past decade, Klopp has been immense in his role as the guardian of our club. Thanks to him, our football is as exciting as ever and continues to evolve, while foreign players want to come to LFC because of him. As this month marks Klopp’s third year at the helm of Liverpool, I wanted to share a short piece I wrote shortly after he officially became our manager.

As a lifelong Liverpool Football Club supporter, the announcement of Jürgen Klopp as our manager this past week has been one of the most joyful moments of my life. Klopp’s sign on date, 8 October 2015, is now a date forever etched in my memory.
Our third foreign manager, Klopp is the best signing we have had in years (mark my words) and unlike his predecessors - Roy Hodgson and Brendan Rodgers - Klopp is in the same managerial calibre as the late greats Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley and possesses a straightforward approach akin to the late Joe Fagan.
It would seem that the football gods have finally deemed LFC deserving of a miraculous gift. Jürgen Klopp is a one in a million, passionate, man manager. His unpretentious, no nonsense approach is disarmingly refreshing and he is adamant about getting us all excited about football again. He wants to get supporters and the team alike to enjoy the season as it happens, football moment by football moment. I am truly looking forward to seeing our Redmen playing full throttle, heavy-metal football – the kind that makes the opposition absolutely dread having to play us at Anfield, making it a fortress once more...
All Klopp needs is time, players of his choosing who embrace the same footballing philosophy, with all of us supporting them all the way. Once everything clicks into place, success will come to us again. It is inevitable.
One of the best things about Klopp’s full throttle football is that it is not built around the abilities of specific players, rather, it is built around the team as a whole. It requires that each player puts an high intensity pressure on their opponents as an interchangeable unified force, for 90 minutes. Klopp’s preferred heavy metal approach demands maximum fitness and effort from every player and thusly, it will separate the men from the boys!
Simply put, it is the kind of football we have all been waiting for. It’s been a long time coming but a new dawn has arrived, and I only have one question for YOU, the Liverpool supporter reading this:
Are you a doubter?
If you answered yes then I suggest that you start believing, because ready or not, the Age of Klopp is here!
Over the past three years, I have come to love and respect Jürgen Klopp almost as much as I love Liverpool Football Club.
I remain steadfast in the belief that he will bring glory to our club once more and I sincerely do hope that you have that same belief too. In Klopp We Trust!
