Official: Nathaniel Clyne Completes Loan Move to Bournemouth
The England international will be joining Dominick Solanke at AFC Bournemouth.
There game of football moves fast which usually is a truth that stands in polar opposite to the transfer market. This morning, though, Liverpool have found themselves in the middle of a flurry of activity that were not only reported early, but were also completed quickly. Mere hours, and, in the case of the Dominic Solanke news, literally inside of an hour, ticking by before confirmation of deals hit the web.
And, perhaps not so coincidentally, the second item confirming the news from this morning is out: the club have announced that Nathaniel Clyne will indeed be heading to AFC Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season. The right back will be joining his former Reds teammate and fellow England international in making the move to Eddie Howe’s Cherries.
The move might cause a bit of anxiety for Liverpool fans, though, given how thin things are at the back. With Clyne gone, Liverpool are a Trent Alexander-Arnold related mishap away from fielding a leggy James Milner at right back.
But before we all throw things at our computers and shout into abyss that is LFC Twitter, it might be worth noting that this likely means the club are confident that Big Joe Gomez is on the mend and, at least, on schedule to return by the end of the month. Also, this morning, Chris Bascombe shared this tidbit:
Jurgen Klopp is considering naming 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever in his squad for Monday’s FA Cup tie at Wolves.

If true, this news, along with the aforementioned optimistic read on BJG and the fact that Liverpool have closed out the frenzied fixture list with no further injury claims means that the timing of this move is perfect.
All the best to Nathaniel as he seeks to secure more playing time.
