Rumour Mongering: Liverpool Table £27m Offer For Wonderkid Abdulkadir Omur
The Trabzonspor youngster is highly touted.
It was reported this morning in The Mirror that Liverpool are keen on signing 19-year-old Turkish midfielder Abdulkadir Omur from Trabzonspor. He is allegedly the brightest Turkish youngster to come through the ranks in years. Premier League rivals Manchester City are also reported to be in for Omur as well.
Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are looking for a long-term replacement for Adam Lallana and have identified Omur as the perfect youngster to fill that roll.
The young Turkish International is a left-footed wide midfielder that can also play centrally. What he lacks in pace he makes up for in his technical ability. He can hold up the ball well and pick out great passes.
Omur broke into Trabzonspor’s first team last season. This season, he’s made 16 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig. In that time he’s managed 2 goals and 4 assists. Omur has not made his full national team debut for Turkey, but he’s been a standout at all the youth levels.
It is not yet known whether this move hinges on whether or not Adam Lallana leaves in this transfer window. It has been reported that Southampton and Fenerbahce are interested in signing Lallana, but we all know Klopp loves him. Liverpool could do a similar deal with Trabzonspor as they did with Red Star when Marko Grujic was signed. Complete the deal in January, but allow the player to remain with the team for the rest of the year.
Something to keep an eye on.
