Liverpool set to receive major injury boost with star’s return to training

Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster is set to make a return to full team training after missing the entirety of the season so far with serious knee and ankle injuries that required surgery.

Jurgen Klopp will soon have his entire squad fit and firing if his players can remain fit as the likes of Joe Gomez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster close in on respective injury returns.

Brewster, still only 18 years of age, travelled with his senior teammates to Marbella for the squad’s warm weather training camp last month and is closing in on a return to full training.

Brewster will make a return to the Melwood training pitch for full team training at some point next week, according to the Liverpool Echo.

While his return will certainly be a boost for Jurgen Klopp and his players, there is no intention of rushing him back as they aim to help him establish his fitness and avoid further time on the sidelines with a reoccurrence of his ankle and knee injuries.

Klopp said: “I hope Rhian is 100% and completely fine, top shape for the pre-season – that would be my target for him, Whether he will play before the end of the season, I don’t know, we don’t close doors.”
