Liverpool could make summer move for creative midfielder that is perfect for Klopp

Liverpool could make a return for Julian Brandt this summer after missing out on him in 2017 as the German has an encouraging £21.4million release clause in his contract.

When the Reds failed to convince Brandt that moving to Anfield was the best move for his career, they identified Mo Salah as an alternative and, oh my, what a change in fortunes that turned out to be.

The Egyptian has scored the most goals out of any forward in England and his goalscoring exploits this season could help guide Liverpool to its first Premier League title.

According to German news outlets Bild and Kicker, Brandt could be of interest to several clubs in England this summer and for Liverpool, making a return would have a pleasing symmetry to it and with his £21.4million release clause, it wouldn’t cost a lot to make a deal materialise.

A lack of creativity in central areas against sides defending with a low block has been an issue for Liverpool since the start of the season as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Philippe Coutinho were not selection options for Jurgen Klopp.

Brandt’s fluid style of play would suit Klopp and his intense possession-based game that has seen Liverpool lose just one game in the Premier League all season.
