The advantage Premier League rivals might have over Liverpool in summer transfer

Arsenal legend Robert Pires believes the Gunners should be doing everything to sign Adrien Rabiot ahead of the likes of Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The French midfielder is on the outside looking in at PSG and is certain to leave the club on a free transfer as his contract expires in the summer.

Pires believes that Unai Emery’s relationship with Rabiot could prove to be an advantage for Arsenal if Rabiot is forced to make a decision between the Londoners and other Premier League outfits.

“Rabiot is a very good player and Arsenal should be trying their best to secure his signature before any other club does,” Pires told bwin.

“Arsenal have the advantage of Emery having already worked with him at PSG, which should hopefully sway Rabiot to join Arsenal.

“He would be worth a big fee on the transfer market so the fact he’s free makes it a no brainer.

“If Emery can secure Rabiot then I think he’ll be able to fill the hole that will be left by Ramsey’s departure.”
