Mané: Only Perfection Will Do
Liverpool’s talented winger claims that nothing but six wins will secure Liverpool the title.
Sadio Mané knows about perfection. Being the closest thing to it for Liverpool over the past few months, the Senegalese winger knows of what he speaks.
“To be honest I think we need to win all of the games, even if it will not be easy,” he said of his team’s shot at breaking their title winning curse this season.
But fear not, because Mané believes that he and his teammates are up to the challenge.
“But we still can win every game because we are a good team and we play very well. Sometimes it’s difficult after the international break because we only had three sessions together. Everyone had been away but now we are back and we started with a win which is very important. We have three or four more days to train together to be like before and we’ll go again.”
Somehow, there’s only six weeks left in this whirlwind season, but in that six weeks, the Reds could play as few as eight or as many as 11 more games, depending on how well that fare in the Champions League. That’s a ton of work still left to do.
Regarding Liverpool’s late winner on Sunday, the winger sees that as fuel to motivate them as the games continue to mount and build in importance.
“The late goals are a good sign,” he insisted. “That’s what makes you more motivated and makes everyone say ‘let’s go, we can do it’. I think it’s always important. This is a very, very good sign and I think everything is possible so let’s do it and win it.”
