Liverpool considering swoop for Bundesliga defender to partner Van Dijk
Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for defender Matthias Ginter as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his defence for next season.
The centre-back made the switch from Borussia Dortmund to Borussia Monchengladbach back in 2017, and Klopp has kept an eye on him ever since.
The Mirror report that the Liverpool manager isn’t satisfied with his centre-back options and wants to add more quality to the ranks.

Virgil van Dijk has established himself as the best defender in the Premier League and enjoyed a solid partnership with Joe Gomez until the England international picked up an injury, meaning Dejan Lovren and now Joel Matip have lined up alongside the Dutchman.
Klopp is a big fan of Ginter, splashing £9million to bring him to Dortmund in 2014.
Monchengladbach suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Bauern Munich last weekend, and Ginter was honest when asked about the game in a post-match interview.
“We made too many mistakes and made it too easy for Bayern,” he said. “They created a lot of chances after they went 3-1 up and deserved to win in the end.”
Nevertheless, Ginter could be a good acquisition for Liverpool should the Reds decide to pursue him in the summer.
