Liverpool unsure about Joel Matip injury timeline

The Liverpool Echo reports that Jurgen Klopp’s medical staff are unsure about how long Joel Matip will be injured for despite claims he will miss the next six weeks.
The Merseyside-based newspaper’s Connor Dunn writes that despite the London Evening Standard reporting that the Cameroonian will be out for six weeks, the Reds are unsure of a timeline.
His injury is a shame as he’s arguably been the club’s best defender this season but in Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren, Klopp has capable backup and shouldn’t be worried.
Hopefully, the Echo have more reliable information as it could mean that Matip won’t miss the whole festive fixture list even though he seems likely to be out for the Manchester City game next month.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League table thanks to a superb start to the season, with the Anfield giants six points clear of their Manchester rivals.
Klopp has worked wonders with his Liverpool side over the last year and a half, transforming a good top four side into the European champions and serious title contenders.
We will get more Matip injury news over the course over the week and we’ll be sure to update you the moment we learn more.
