Rangers winger Ryan Kent slams Liverpool training

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Kent told Rangers TV that the training he was doing on Merseyside was not enough to prepare him for a return to action.

The Reds sold him to the Scottish side in the summer for £7million, with Steven Gerrard signing him permanently after a successful loan spell with Rangers last season.

His path to the first team was blocked by Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and while he is a talented young player, there was no room for him to develop at Anfield.

He has now fired a parting shot at Liverpool, claiming the training was not up to scratch.

The 22-year-old told Rangers TV: “The training programme I had prior to coming here didn’t really stand me in good stead for coming back playing again.

“But with the physio and fitness coaches I have now, I feel like I’ve got myself back up to a good level of fitness and the right fitness for game time.”

The Liverpool Academy graduate didn’t arrive at Ibrox ready to contribute on the pitch and he has now blamed this on Liverpool.
