Liverpool Reportedly Not Interested In Tottenham Goalkeeper

Paulo Gazzaniga was linked following an awful night for Reds backup Adrian but a move is unlikely.

Liverpool backup goalkeeper Adrian had something of a terrible night against Aston Villa on Sunday, with an error on the first goal that unsteadied the side and opened the floodgates for what became a historically bad victory.

In the end, the Reds lost 7-2, setting a record for most goals conceded in the Premier League by a defending champion. And while there was plenty of blame to go around, many chose to focus their ire on the goalkeeper.

Meanwhile at Tottenham, 28-year-old Argentine shot stopper Paulo Gazzaniga has been pushed to third in Spurs’ pecking order by the arrival of Joe Hart. Put it all together and today we got Gazzaniga to Liverpool rumours.

It’s the kind of rumour that seems obvious transfer chum for deadline day, and according to The Liverpool Echo the club have no interest—a stance echoed by The Athletic’s James Pearce, who says there will be no incomings.

Given Liverpool under Jürgen Klopp have never been ones to make reactive, knee-jerk moves in the market, it’s probably to be expected, and a last minute dash to sign Spurs’ third-choice stopper always seemed a stretch.
