Marko Grujic Set to Leave For Werder Bremen On Loan
See you again, big guy.
And... it seems like today’s flurry of outgoings have begun. According to reports stemming from BILD and other German outlets (and confirmed by the Evening Standard’s David Lynch) Marko Grujic is set to depart Liverpool FC again on a loan move. Having already spent two seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin, he’s now headed to Werder Bremen, where he should be able to contend for a starting spot, and contribute to a team that will be involved in a relegation dogfight.

Now, Liverpool were obviously keen to let go of Marko and several other fringe players on permanent deals this transfer window, but it seems it just couldn’t materialise this summer for Marko. It remains to be seen what happens with the likes of Harry Wilson, and Xherdan Shaqiri. In the early days of Jürgen Klopp’s tenure, Marko was earmarked as one for the future. That he never really had the chance to play really shows just how far the club has gone from a rebuilding project, to perennial contenders. All the best, big guy. We’ll do this again next summer?
