Gianluigi Buffon: Liverpool one of the favourites to win the Champions League

Liverpool are among the favourites to win this season’s Champions League, Gianluigi Buffon told the Mirror ahead of the Reds’ clash with PSG this evening.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has travelled to Paris to take on Ligue 1’s heavy hitters and speaking ahead of the massive game, Buffon has included his opponents this evening in his favourites to win the tournament.

The Reds came close to lifting Europe’s most coveted trophy for a sixth time last season and after being drawn in a very difficult group this season, Liverpool need a big win tonight to confirm their place in the Round of 16.

“This season, I see the favourites for the Champions League as Barcelona, Juventus, and Manchester City.

“Liverpool as well have a big chance and you can never forget about Real Madrid,” Buffon told Mirror Sport’s David Maddock.

“Of course it is still a dream of mine to win the Champions League – last season I thought would be my last chance but now I have another one.”
