Fernandinho questions Liverpool’s ability to cope under pressure

Fernandinho has issued Liverpool a warning to Liverpool over the pressure that comes with being chased at the top of the Premier League table after Manchester City cut the Reds’ seven-point lead down to four.

The Reds could have gone 10 points clear with a win at the Etihad but a spirited performance from the City players and a lack of luck in Liverpool’s favour meant that their lead was instead shortened to four points.

Fernandinho has now warned Liverpool about the pressure that comes with being the side constantly being shot at as Jurgen Klopp’s side looks to protect its slim lead.

City midfielder Fernandinho said: “Four points is going to be interesting for the rest of the season for both teams.

“They are still leaders and they have a lot of games to play as well. It is not easy to stay there at the top because the pressure is so high.

“You have to win every game, so we will see what happens in the end.”
