Rumour Mongering: Lynch Says to Keep Eye on Olise Amidst Growing Speculation
Speaking on Anfield Index, club-connected journalist David Lynch commented on Liverpool FC’s long-documented interest in Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise, saying:
“Michael Olise has been mentioned [in the comments] and I would keep an eye on that.”
“Liverpool have watched him for a long, long time, even before his time at Crystal Palace.”
“This Liverpool team needs pace and it would be massive for Florian Wirtz and could make him look like an even better player.”
“It’s an interesting one, especially with Bayern Munich interested in Cody Gakpo.”
“He’s a very, very good player and I’m sure he will want to return to the Premier League at some point.”
“It’s definitely one worth watching out for.”
Of course, it’s not the first time Olise has been linked with Liverpool. Bayern Space, the Bayern insider account that was somehow ahead of the Wirtz transfer story every step of the way, broke news that Liverpool were interested in activating Olise’s release clause way back at the start of the season. This transpired into a back and forth between Mr. Space (?) and reporter Christian Falk over whether a release clause existed at all.
Now, notorious Twitter rumour monger Indykalia has thrown his hat into the ring, suggesting that yes, a release clause does exist, and Liverppool are keen to trigger it.
For now, Yan Diomande looks more like a surer thing, even if he is caught in the crossfire of a dispute after switching management agencies. An Olise pursuit would almost certainly mean the end of the Mo Salah era at Liverpool. And what a time it’s been. Hopefully, Liverpool can cap it off with even more trophies if it’s truly farewell to one of the most legendary players to ever don the red shirt.
