Trent Alexander-Arnold is playing like a “serial-winner” after his triple assist performance against Watford, according to Martin Keown.

The BBC pundit recognised the quality shown by Trent during his stunning showing against the Hornets as he set up two goals for Sadio Mane and one for Virgil van Dijk.

Without the young fullback, Liverpool looked almost totally devoid of creativity but his display at Anfield on Wednesday has seen him be compared to David Beckham for the quality of his delivery.

“Alexander-Arnold is back in the nick of time,” Keown told The Daily Mail. “Until Wednesday’s win over Watford, I thought Liverpool had blown it.

“That 5-0 victory sent a message to Manchester City and Alexander-Arnold was the standout performer with a hat-trick of assists.

“He is only 20 but plays with the freedom and confidence of a serial winner. That is what this team have been missing.”
